About Alfred Tonna

Alfred Tonna is a former cyclist who represented Malta in two editions of the Summer Olympic Games. Born on 31 May 1950, he first competed at the 1972 Munich Olympics in the 100-kilometre team time trial, where Malta placed 31st. He returned to Olympic competition eight years later at the 1980 Moscow Games, taking part in both the individual road race, where he did not finish,and the 100-kilometre team time trial, where Malta improved its standing to 20th place. Tonna was affiliated with Mosta Cycling Club and is remembered as one of Malta’s early Olympic cycling representatives.
