Gianluca Chetcuti’s debut at the Paris 2024 Games, consisted of two days of qualifying events.  The first day of competition saw shooters do three rounds of 25 each, for a maximum of 75 targets In the first rounds Gianluca Chetcuti hit 24 out of 25 targets, in the second round he hit 22 out of 25 targets, and in the third 23 out of 25. Gianluca finished the first day in 28th place with a total of 69 targets hit.   In provisional first place were Rikard Levin-Andersson (SWE) and James Willet (AUS) with a joint score of 74 each. On Tuesday morning, the second day of qualifying rounds Gianluca Chetcuti shot a straight 25 round.   In the second and final round of the day, Chetcuti missed three shots to hit 22. Whilst this morning’s performance was notable, unfortunately this was not enough for Chetcuti to qualify for the final round. The Gold Medal went to Nathan Hales, who scored 48 on 50 targets, establishing a new Olympic Record. Silver went to China’s Ying Qi and Bronze went to Guam’s  Jean Pierre Brol Cardenas.
