Malta’s Kyle Micallef came very close to beating his seasonal best time in the 50 metres freestyle heats which took place at the Paris La Defence Arena, earlier on this morning.

 

Competing in the fifth heat, Micallef started well and finished in second place with a time of 22.89 seconds.

 

Despite his result, Micallef failed to proceed to the next round of competition.
