Mallia, who had already brought home a Bronze at least year’s EYC in Turkey, repeated the same feat  this year as he placed 3^rd after a great run. Mallia placed first in his squad with a splendid 1408 series (234.7 average) to finish in 3^rd place overall after the 6 game qualifying games.  Tobias Kastfelt Bryde qualified first, the Dane ending 24 pins ahead of Jaroslav Zapletal from the Czech Republic. The final qualifier from 112 youths was Frenchman Thomas Carre Layme whose 1398 total was just enough to pip Erik Larsson from Sweden by 9 pins. The semi final between Mallia and Zapletal was close till the last 2 frames as the Czech went a few pins up and Mallia could not make up the  gap, finishing with a 194 against the 227.  Mallia came home with a very prestigious bronze medal. Zapletal ended up winning gold as he beat Thomas 233-200 in the final. The other Maltese youths ended in 23^rd place (Kayden Lagana’, 213 average), Tomas Caruso (66^th place, 194 average) and Samuel Caruso (85^th 186 average), while Celianne Micallef placed 52^nd in the girls section.
