He won Malta’s first-ever World Cup medal in shooting and set a junior world record at the 2004 European Junior Championships. Chetcuti has represented Malta in four Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016), narrowly missing the finals in both 2004 and 2008, and finishing 9th in London 2012. He also served as Malta’s flag bearer at the Athens 2004 and London 2012 Olympics. At the Commonwealth Games, he secured bronze medals in the double trap in 2002 and 2006, and in 2013, he won Malta’s first-ever gold medal at the Mediterranean Games. In the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE), he accumulated a total of three gold, three silver, and no bronze medals, consistently dominating the double trap event over the years. Chetcuti’s achievements have made him one of Malta’s most successful and celebrated athletes.
