The Maltese Olympic Committee recently announced the support of APS Bank plc as an official sponsor, for Team Malta’s participation in the forthcoming Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris. This partnership marks a significant milestone in providing essential support to Maltese athletes who were striving for selection for the Olympic Games. Maltese Olympic Committee President, Julian Pace Bonello, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “The support from APS Bank is invaluable to our preparations for Paris 2024. This sponsorship will not only assist us financially but also motivate our athletes to strive for excellence. We are grateful for APS Bank’s commitment and look forward to a successful collaboration.” Rachael Blackburn, Head of Culture at APS Bank commented, “We are honoured to support the Maltese Olympic Committee. This collaboration allows us to leverage our contribution across sports disciplines, promote healthy lifestyles and foster a sense of national pride in our talented athletes.” Malta will be represented in Paris by five athletes – Beppe Grillo (Athletics), Katryna Esposito (Judo), Gianluca Chetcuti (Shooting), Sasha Gatt (Swimming) and Kyle Micallef (Swimming).   Whilst Micallef is based in the United States, the remaining four athletes met with Ms Blackburn and Mr Jeremy Vassallo during a meet and greet hosted by the Maltese Olympic Committee. During this event, President Pace Bonello also announced the Flag Bearers for the Opening Ceremony.
