About Christopher Dowling

Christopher Dowling was a swimmer and water polo player who represented Malta in the 100 m freestyle at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome at just 16 years old. He later played water polo for Balluta WPC and competed at the 1963 Mediterranean Games in Naples. Over his career, he broke several national swimming records and won five league titles and five national cups in water polo before retiring in 1973. Dowling went on to become a teacher and continued giving private lessons after retirement. His family also had strong ties to the sport, with his father and uncles having played for Valletta United WPC.
