Frans Pace grew up in a sporty family and tried various activities before discovering shooting. Inspired by a TV programme about the Olympics and encouraged by relatives who had competed for Malta, he began practising in 1989 and quickly rose to become national champion.
About Frans Pace
Pace represented Malta at two Olympic Games, competing in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000. In Atlanta he performed strongly in the Trap event and narrowly missed reaching the final, finishing tied for 20th. In Sydney he was affected by illness and finished tied for 32nd.
Besides the Olympics, he enjoyed success at the Commonwealth Games and GSSE, winning medals and notable finishes over his career.
After retiring from competition, Pace remained involved in shooting through the federation before stepping back to focus on his family. He is married to Roseanne and has three children. He is known for his dedication to the sport and remains a respected figure in Maltese shooting.
