About John Magri

John Magri is a former cyclist and a prominent figure in Malta’s cycling scene. He represented Malta at the 1972 Summer Olympics, competing in the Men’s 100 km Team Time Trial alongside Louis Bezzina, Joseph Said, and Alfred Tonna. The team placed 31st in the event.

Beyond the Olympics, Magri took part in the Mediterranean Games and participated in numerous international cycling tours, not only as a cyclist but also serving as a coach and mechanic.

A respected name in local sports, Magri has been President of the Mosta Cycling Club, and his legacy continues through his son Paul, who owns the largest bicycle shop in Malta. Over the years, Magri has won multiple national championships, served as a national team coach, and earned recognition such as Sportsman of the Year, awarded by Malta’s national sports organization and also by the local sports writers association.
