Madeleine Scerri is a freestyle swimmer born in Australia of Maltese descent. Although born and raised in Australia, she represented Malta in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
About Madeleine Scerri
She competed in the women’s 100 metre freestyle, winning her heat and finishing 45th overall. Although she did not qualify for the semi-finals, she set a new personal best and Maltese national record with a time of 57.97 seconds.
After her swimming career, Scerri worked as a coach at a successful swimming club before stepping away from the sport and getting married.
She competed at the Olympics alongside fellow Maltese-Australian swimmer Ryan Gambin.
