Sasha Gatt is a talented swimmer who began swimming at age seven and quickly rose through the ranks, winning her first medal at eight and setting her first national short course record in the 800m freestyle at thirteen. She has competed internationally at events such as the FINA World Junior Championships, the Games of the Small States of Europe, and the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival.
About Sasha Gatt
Sasha holds multiple Maltese national records in freestyle events and made history as the first Maltese swimmer to reach a final at the European Junior Swimming Championships. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at age 15 and competed in both the 400m and 1500m freestyle races, setting personal bests. Continuing her success, Sasha qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics and, alongside shooter Gianluca Chetcuti, had the honor of carrying the Maltese flag at the opening ceremony. Despite testing positive for COVID-19 during the 2024 Games, she remains one of Malta’s top swimmers and a role model for young athletes.
