The Mediterranean Beach Games are a multi-sport event bringing together athletes from countries and territories around the Mediterranean region to compete in beach and water sports. Organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (ICMG), the first edition was held in Pescara, Italy, in 2015. The programme includes sports and disciplines suited to a beach environment, such as beach volleyball, open-water swimming, rowing beach sprint, sailing and beach wrestling, although the programme can change from one edition to another. The Games provide athletes with international competition experience while promoting sport, friendship and cooperation among Mediterranean nations.
