The Maltese Karate Association was founded on 14th February 1979, with Mr. Envic Galea serving as its first President. Interestingly, its creation mirrored the historical roots of Karate-Do, as it was established with the support of the Malta Judo Association, much like Judo’s Jigoro Kano once supported the introduction of Karate in Japan. The founding committee included Envic Galea, Ino Grech, John Tonna, Paul Wright, and Adriano Santacesarea.
