The Squash Association of Malta was established in 1983. Malta Squash holds around 10 tournaments every year in various clubs. Tournaments are open to players with different categories for beginner/intermediate, advanced and junior players. The main event of the year is the Malta Squash International Open, which attracts several foreign players as well as local players of all standards. The association also runs a National League which is again open to all levels of players, from relative beginners to top players. Now there are twelve divisions in the league. The objective of Malta Squash is to promote the game of squash and to organise activities and competitions with the primary aim to improve the standard of the game. It is based on purely voluntary service from squash loving individuals.
