The Malta Motorsport Federation (MMF) was officially established on 1st June 2007, following a government-backed initiative in 2006 to unify and organize local motorsport under one governing body. Spearheaded by Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, a committee of 13 enthusiasts drafted the federation’s statute. The MMF quickly affiliated with several clubs and gained recognition both nationally and internationally, becoming Malta’s official motorsport authority and a full member of the FIA. It was later registered as an NGO in 2009.
